If you need same-day color
The tan develops over 8 hours after application. What you see right after Melissa leaves is lighter than your finished color. Plan ahead — 24 hours minimum, 48 if the color really matters.
If you have an active skin flare
Eczema, psoriasis, or broken skin won't develop color evenly, and DHA can irritate already-compromised skin. Wait until the flare clears, or do a patch test first.
If you waxed or shaved that morning
Hair removal opens the follicles slightly. Give yourself a few hours before the appointment so the color doesn't settle unevenly in freshly-opened pores.
